Good Old-Fashioned Kinda Stuff.
Nothing's better than good old-fashioned lamb stew when the fever got you all weak in the joints and the eyes feel like fire burning up the whole body. But one thing for sure. This fever ain't gonna get me down. I've got enough strength to get up to make me a good old-fashioned lamb stew with nice pieces of lamb, potatoes, carrot, onion and celery. Not much work here. Just brown the meat and let it all cook in a slow-cooker for three hours while I take a bit of a rest watching one movie after another that it got me all rather drowsy in the head.
I've got a bit of Gardenia slices left to go with the lamb stew. This will give me a bit of energy to fight this fever off. I can do this alone. No, no one is gonna see me this way.

Dunno about lamb stew lah..I aint a big fan of lamb.:)) What I long for when the fever burns and joints hurt is a big bowl of Tom Yum,some spicy chicken Vindaloo, some tart rasam, fish curry, dalcha..hell..anything Asian. Maybe because I'm not surrounded by this type of food as your are? Hey, if lamb stew works for you, go for it. What does gardenia do ( you do mean the flower, right?)
Hope you recover soon.
Salam bro,
Way to go there buddy, way to go! You need anything, just give me a holler, you have my number. Er...provided you are within Klang Valley lah! :)
Get well soon, Sir. You have been too long in putting the love on hold but am sure you would be better by tomorrow. Have enough rest, ya. But.. during the 3hours slow cook, do write ok. hehe..
aah, comfort food, looks like we are on the mend now..
p/s kl_gal, gardenia is a brand name for sliced bread.
Salam Bergen
I don't know about lamb stew but I was told chicken soup is a good comfort food when you're sick.
Try it. Tell me if its true.
Dear Bergen Sir... I'm in cahoot with Kak Fauziah, it has been chicken soup and a brew of good warm tea to help you in this kindda weather... Maybe you can try it if the lamb stew doesn't work...
Errr...study kuat sangak ni...
take care and get well soon.
salam mr.b.tulaa teringatkan kawan kat Mongolia laa tu.
Take care mr.b.we still have things to catch up..by the way,it is kinda brewing over here..the stew i mean.LOL
kl_gal: Tom yam would be a good thing but I'm not up to it to fix it. Stew is more convenient with the slow cooker. Gardenia is the brand name of the sliced bread, like Wonder bread he he.
Cakapaje: I hear you, sir. I believe one should bother people when one is sick. LOL. It's this macho idea that I've lived with. hehe.
Zara: I spend too much time in bed trying to fight this fever off that I've decided to do it different. Sit and walkabout and try to do as many push up as as I can and get the sweat out.
Anonymous 8.10pm: We certainly are.
Fauziah Ismail: I would have done it but I don't keep chicken too long in the fridge so there was none when I needed it. Yes, I believe chicken is good in times like this. It's mild and easy on the belly. Lemme have another fever to try it. he he
Raden Galoh: Chicken and tea are good. I'm not exactly lamb and coffee kinda guy hehe. No, ma'am, I haven't been studying too hard. I think I've been studying too little and comprehending even much less hence the fever. Does it make sense? he he
Norlyda: I've fully recovered. Maybe 80%. Will fight off the remaining 20% by house work. Laundry and mopping floors should do me good.
To everyone, thank you very much for your encouraging advice. I'm back with a bit of cough remaining.
You people have a nice day, y'hear? Oh, they've declared Thaipusam a holiday. Just like that? This is gonna turn a lot of schedule upside down.
Cakapaje: It should read: ...one shouldn't bother people...
Sorry about that.
Bro,
I got you the first round itself. Don't worry, as the King of Typos, I can read quite well :) Take care bro.
